A political coalition consisting of stakeholders and youth groups across the Afijio, Atiba, Oyo East, and Oyo West Local Government Areas has purchased the expression of interest and nomination forms for the former Chairman of the Oyo State Road Maintenance Agency, OYSROMA, Hon. Busoye Ogunlade.

The forms, purchased under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, are intended to draft the former agency boss into the legislative race to represent the Afijio/Atiba/Oyo East/Oyo West Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives in the 2027 general elections.

Speaking during the presentation of the forms to the aspirant in Ibadan, representatives of the coalition described the gesture as an absolute demonstration of confidence in Ogunlade’s administrative capacity and grassroots appeal.

The group noted that the federal constituency currently requires a representative with a proven track record of public service and community development, stressing that Ogunlade’s performance during his time at OYSROMA makes him the most suitable candidate to drive effective representation and draw federal infrastructure to the ancient towns.

Reacting to the development, Hon. Ogunlade expressed appreciation to the stakeholders, describing the purchasing of the forms as a critical call to greater service.

While promising not to take their trust for granted, the PDP legislative hopeful stated that he would immediately embark on a robust and wide-reaching consultation with traditional institutions, party leadership, and residents across all the wards in the four local government areas.

He assured his supporters that his legislative agenda, if elected, would focus heavily on infrastructure development, robust youth empowerment schemes, and qualitative policies tailored to elevate the welfare of the constituents.
