The State Executive Committee of the Accord Party in Oyo State has explicitly stated that the political platform will no longer be used by anyone as a commodity for political negotiations ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a press release made available to Gistlife, thirteen high-ranking members of the State Executive Committee declared that Accord Party is fully re-engineered and single-mindedly focused on rescuing Oyo State in 2027 by fielding credible, capable, and generally acceptable candidates across all levels, breaking away from its previous reputation as a platform for political leverage. The statement was jointly endorsed by key party leaders, including State Vice Chairman Alhaji Adeyanju Lukman, Publicity Secretary Badru Idris Oriyomi, Youth Leader Tiamiyu Taiwo, and Treasurer Hon. Nurudeen Okunola.

The executives used the opportunity to strongly dismiss recent allegations leveled against one of the party’s leading aspirants, Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat. They described the public rumors characterizing a recent party gathering as an attack orchestrated by thugs or sponsored by an aspirant as completely false, baseless, and deliberately misleading.

According to the executive members, the incident in question was entirely an internal disagreement among members of the State Executive Committee. The friction, they explained, arose from widespread frustration over continuous impunity, high-handedness, and unilateral decision-making by a few individuals within the upper echelons of the party leadership who have traditionally dictated terms.

The statement urged party loyalists and the general public to completely disregard any negative narratives being peddled in the media, describing them as sponsored attempts to denigrate dedicated party members and tarnish the image of the political family as a whole. The executives insisted that the party remains resolute and will not be distracted by internal elements trying to maintain the old status quo of using the platform for bargaining chips with rival major parties.

Other key party leaders who appended their signatures to the joint declaration include Dr. Razak Hamzat (Auditor), Hon. Jesugbemi (Financial Secretary), Mr. Folorunsho Lukman Adewale (Organising Secretary), Mrs. Alatise Bukola (Welfare Secretary), and Mr. Adewuyi Olusoji (Assistant Secretary). The position was further backed by Ex-Officio members Comrade Raheem Gbolahan, Comrade Olayemi Wahab, Mr. Hamzat Rahmon, and Olawale Benjamin, all affirming that the party is locked in and ready for an independent, aggressive push for the Agodi Government House in 2027.
