Former Special Adviser on Education to the late Governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi, has congratulated Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe on his nomination by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the new Minister of Power.

The nomination follows the resignation of Adebayo Adelabu, who stepped down from the position to pursue elective office.

In a statement, Dr. Bisi Akin-Alabi described the appointment as a well-deserved recognition of Tegbe’s years of dedicated service, leadership, and commitment to national development. She noted that the nomination reflects his wealth of experience and immense contributions to governance and economic reform in Nigeria.

Tegbe, an indigene of Oyo State, brings over 35 years of experience across the public and private sectors. He is a former Senior Partner and Head of Advisory Services at KPMG Africa, where he led initiatives in institutional transformation, fiscal policy reform, and governance. His background also features major engagements within the power sector alongside regulatory bodies, including the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission and the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Company. Tegbe currently serves as the Director General and Global Liaison for the Nigeria-China Strategic Partnership, where he manages bilateral cooperation and advances socio-economic objectives.

Akin-Alabi expressed confidence that the Minister-Designate would bring his extensive expertise to bear in driving critical reforms within the sector. She prayed for divine guidance and strength for Tegbe as he prepares to assume his new national assignment to improve grid stability, attract sustainable investment, and advance the goals of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
