The General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries International, Apostle Johnson Suleman, has added his voice to the growing chorus of condemnation following the deadly Palm Sunday attack in Jos, Plateau State, describing the incident as “another evidence of failed leadership.” In a scathing assessment of the country’s security architecture, the outspoken cleric argued that the current political class has abandoned its primary responsibility of protecting citizens in favor of early 2027 election permutations and “pre-coronation plans.” Taking to his official X handle on Monday, Apostle Suleman emphasized that while spiritual interventions are vital, they should not serve as a smokescreen for administrative incompetence. “I believe in the power of prayers, but prayers won’t replace responsibility,” the cleric stated. “We need humane leaders; these current folks have zero affiliation with empathy. We are tired. It’s depressingly exhausting.” He further criticized the government for allegedly emboldening the same insecurity it once condemned while in the opposition, warning that “posterity will judge” those who waste the nation’s collective patrimony on political jamborees while the hinterlands bleed. The cleric’s comments come at a time of heightened volatility in Plateau State. The Gari Ya Waye community in Angwan Rukuba, Jos North Local Government Area, was plunged into mourning on Sunday when unknown gunmen launched a violent assault, leaving a trail of death and critical injuries. In a bid to restore order, the Plateau State Government imposed a 48-hour curfew effective from March 29 to April 1, 2026. However, reports from the state capital indicate that the curfew was largely ignored on Monday. Residents, moved by grief and anger, took to the streets in large numbers to protest the resurgence of killings, demanding justice and a complete overhaul of the state’s security strategy. Apostle Suleman did not spare those who frequently take to social media to defend the government’s record. Addressing “supporters of failed leadership,” he challenged them to at least employ sound logic and “good grammar” if they intended to justify the current state of affairs for personal gain. “So even if I am irritated by your intentional delusion, I would be encouraged by your mastery of words,” he quipped, signing off with his initials, AJS. The Apostle concluded by expressing his deepest condolences to the families affected by the Angwan Rukuba massacre, praying for the fortitude to bear what he termed an “irreparable Post navigation New Sokoto CP Hayyatu Shafa Takes Charge, Vows to Crush Terrorism and Restore Peace HURIWA Petitions DSS To Arrest Sunday Igboho Over ‘No-Go Area’ Warning To Atiku, Obi
