A Yoruba socio-cultural group, Ìgbìnmó Májékóbájé Ilé-Yorùbá, has slammed self-acclaimed activist Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, warning him to stop intimidating Yoruba citizens over their political choices ahead of the 2027 general elections. In a statement issued on Friday by its Convener, Olusola Badero, and Home Director, Princess Balogun, the group accused Igboho of abandoning his “Odùduwà Republic” struggle to become a “political thug” for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). The union expressed disappointment that Igboho, who once opposed President Bola Tinubu’s ambitions, is now allegedly threatening those who do not support the President’s second-term bid. The statement specifically referenced viral videos where Igboho reportedly warned politicians against campaigning in the South-West and allegedly ordered the abduction of a TikToker for supporting Peter Obi. “It is very unfortunate that the self-acclaimed Yoruba activist… is the same person now supporting Tinubu and threatening those who oppose Tinubu’s ambition for a second term,” the group said. The group challenged Igboho to redirect his energy to Kwara South, where they claimed Fulani terrorists have taken over communities and kidnapped traditional rulers. “Sunday Igboho should, as a matter of fact, go to Kwara State and flush out the Fulani terrorists who have taken over the entire Kwara South. He should stop being a stooge for politicians,” the statement added.
