The Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, has issued a passionate appeal to Nigerians to remain patient and maintain faith in the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, assuring that the ongoing reforms in the power sector are the “bedrock” for a national economic turnaround. Speaking during a recent engagement, the Minister emphasized that the President has a clear, strategic roadmap to use stable electricity as the primary engine to drive optimal performance across all other sectors of the Nigerian economy. Adelabu noted that while the current transition period might involve difficult adjustments, the ultimate goal is to create a resilient energy system that supports industrialization, small businesses, and household comfort. “The President has a clear plan to use the power sector to drive optimal performance across other sectors of the economy,” Adelabu stated. “We are working with full support from the Presidency to ensure that electricity becomes the catalyst for growth that Nigerians have long yearned for.” Addressing the concerns of citizens regarding the impact of recent policy changes, the Minister stressed that the administration is mindful of the temporary hardships. He clarified that the government’s actions are not intended to penalize the public but to fix deep-seated structural issues that have plagued the sector for decades. “I appeal to Nigerians to give the administration time to deliver on its plans,” he urged. “These reforms are not meant to hurt citizens. They are necessary steps toward a future where power outages become a thing of the past.” Adelabu further highlighted that the “groundwork” laid in the previous year is now yielding results, with the Presidential Power Initiative (PPI)—popularly known as the Siemens Deal—moving into critical phases of transmission and distribution upgrades Concluding his message, the Minister called on all stakeholders, including state governments and local communities, to partner with the federal government in protecting power infrastructure from vandalism. “The journey ahead requires a united front,” Adelabu said. “With your continued patience and support, the ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda will manifest in a brilliantly lit Nigeria that powers our homes, our industries, and our dreams.” Post navigation Judge Reads Judgment for 4 Hours as Yahaya Bello’s Trial Turns to “Wait-and-Get” Drama!
