The world is holding its breath as the confrontation between Washington and Tehran reached a terrifying new peak on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. In a direct, bone-chilling warning, Iran’s security chief told U.S. President Donald Trump to “be careful not to be eliminated” after Trump threatened to unleash “death, fire, and fury” upon the Islamic Republic.

The exchange marks the most dangerous escalation since the February 28 joint U.S.-Israeli strikes—dubbed “Operation Epic Fury”—which assassinated Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and threw the Middle East into a state of total war.

riting on social media platform X, Iran’s security chief, Ali Larijani, dismissed Trump’s recent warnings as “empty threats.” Larijani, a top aide to the late Supreme Leader, warned the American President that his own life might be at risk if he continues to push Tehran.

“Iran is not afraid of your empty threats. Even those greater than you could not eliminate the Iranian nation,” Larijani wrote. “Take care of yourself not to be eliminated.”

The message comes just days after Larijani told Iranian state television that the Islamic Republic would “not leave Trump alone” following the strike that killed Khamenei and over 1,000 others.

Since the assassination of Khamenei on February 28, the “Axis of Resistance” has retaliated with waves of drones and missiles targeting Israel and U.S. bases in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Qatar.

As the U.S. Navy deploys additional carrier strike groups to the Persian Gulf, the world watches to see if Iran will carry out its threat to ensure that “not one liter of oil” is exported from the region.

With Iran’s leadership currently in a state of flux and an interim council led by President Masoud Pezeshkian at the helm, the “short-term excursion” Trump predicted is quickly looking like the start of a global energy and security catastrophe.
