Social media has been buzzing with rumors that the National Leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, was rushed abroad for emergency medical attention. But hold your horses—his camp says it’s all “fake news!”

The Kwankwasiyya Movement has officially broken its silence, dismissing the viral claims as nothing more than a smear campaign by political rivals.

Speaking on Thursday, the spokesperson for the movement, Mansur Kurugu, made it clear that the former Kano State Governor is in high spirits and perfectly healthy.

“Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso departs Nigeria for personal reasons. It is not for medical tourism or any health-related reason,” Kurugu clarified.

Kwankwaso’s media aide, Saifullahi Hassan, went a step further, calling out “political detractors” for trying to mislead the public. Taking to Facebook, Hassan insisted that the timing of these rumors makes no sense because the Senator was very much active on the streets of Kano just hours before his flight.

To prove the “Madugu” is fit as a fiddle, his team pointed out his activities on Thursday morning. Before heading to the airport, Kwankwaso was spotted at the famous Singer Market in Kano.

He wasn’t there to shop, but to stand in solidarity with traders who recently lost millions of naira to a devastating fire outbreak.

While the specific “personal reasons” for his trip remain private, one thing is certain: the Kwankwasiyya leader wants his supporters to know he is not on a hospital bed, but simply on a planned journey.
