Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji has been confirmed as the candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming Osun 2026 gubernatorial election.
This confirmation came after the conclusion of the gubernatorial primary held on Saturday in Osogbo.
While announcing the confirmation, a former gubernatorial aspirant of the party, Kunle Rasheed Adegoke, stated that this decision was made following the APC national working committee’s directive.

Adegoke also mentioned that the other aspirants had withdrawn in support of Oyebamiji.
He stated, “I, Kunle Adegoke, with the agreement of all other aspirants, propose that Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji be chosen as the consensus candidate for the 2026 gubernatorial race. I make this motion.”
Senator Babajide Omoworare further supported the motion proposed by Kunle Rasheed Adegoke, solidifying Bola Oyebamiji as the APC’s consensus gubernatorial candidate.
The Chairman of the Osun APC governorship primary election committee, Governor Monday Okpebholo from Edo State, later declared Bola Oyebamiji as the official APC candidate.
