Just 24 hours before the Accord Party’s gubernatorial primary in Osun State, scheduled for Wednesday, Governor Ademola Adeleke has officially defected to the party.
The Nation reported that Accord Party flags were raised in front of the Osun State Government House on Tuesday evening, coinciding with a meeting with leaders from his former party.

Adeleke left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) due to a leadership crisis within the party. A top source in his administration confirmed to The Nation that “Adeleke is seeking his re-election ticket with Accord.” Olawale Rasheed, the Governor’s spokesperson, also confirmed the defection.
