Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) due to ongoing national leadership issues. He announced his resignation on Instagram, stating he submitted the letter on November 4, 2025, to party officials in Sagba Abogunde, Ward 2, Ede North Local Government.

Adeleke expressed gratitude to the party and its supporters for their support during his time as a Senator and Governor. Reports indicate he may not pursue the party’s nomination for the 2026 governorship election unless internal conflicts are resolved. However, the PDP believes that if the issues are addressed and recognized by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Adeleke’s decision could change.
