As the All Progressives Congress (APC) gears up for its governorship primary on December 13, 2025, nine aspirants, including former National Secretary Senator Iyiola Omisore, have entered the race for the party’s ticket for the August 8, 2026, Osun State Governorship Election.
The candidates are:
– Senator Iyiola Omisore
– Babatunde Hareter Oralusi
– Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji
– Bar. Oyedotun Babayemi
– Benedict Olugboyega Alabi
– Dr. Akinade Akanmu Ogunbiyi
– Adegoke Rasheed Okiki Adekunle
– Dr. Mulikat Abiola Jimoh (the only female candidate)
– Senator Babajide Omoworare
Aspirants must submit their completed forms by December 1, 2025. Screening will occur on December 3 and 4, with results published on December 5. A party meeting is planned to discuss a potential consensus candidate, but some insiders believe it’s happening too late, advocating for a primary election instead.
