VAR denies Blues winner against 9-man Ajax as they finish comeback from 3goals behind
Chelsea finishes an historical comeback against Dutch side Ajax as substitute Reece James secured a point for the Blues after the were 4-1 down.
Ajax came to Stamford Bridge with full hopes to win the contest as they got an early lead through Promes freekick at the second minute of play which was deflected by Abraham.
Chelsea was quick to respond as Pulisic goes on a mazy run towards the visitors’ goal before being hauled down by Veltman in the penalty area. Jorginho wrongfoots Onana and slots his third penalty of the season.
The Blues lost control of the match following strikes from Hakim Ziyech, Quincy Promes and a Kepa own goal.
The game was turned around with Azpilicueta, Jorginho’s penalty and Substitute Reece James excellent finish at the 74th minute.
Defenders Daley Blind and Joel Veltman were both shown second yellow cards in the same period of play, the latter for a handball in the box.
Chelsea sits at the top of Group H with 7points, same with Ajax and Valencia while Lille occupies the bottom position after earning just a point from four matches.
