The Oyo State Government has announced the commencement of the 2026 Bursary Screening Exercise for indigenes of the state in their final year of study in public higher institutions across the country. The screening exercise, organised by the Oyo State Scholarship Board, will commence on Wednesday, November 11, and end on Friday, November 27, 2026, in line with the approved timetable released by the Board. According to the Secretary of the Board, Mr. Niyi Akinyanju, only applicants whose online submissions have been reviewed and found to have met the stipulated registration requirements have been shortlisted for the screening exercise. He clarified that successful completion of online registration does not automatically qualify an applicant for screening, stressing that only those who have satisfied the necessary requirements will be considered. In a bid to make the exercise more accessible and convenient, the Board has introduced both physical and online screening options. However, applicants studying in higher institutions within the South-West geopolitical zone are required to participate in physical screening, irrespective of their state of residence.
