Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Convener of the TAKE IT MOVEMENT in Oyo State, Amb. (Dr.) Opeyemi Ayanrinde, popularly known as MC Swagger, has rallied youths and young political leaders across the state to mobilise grassroots support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ayanrinde, a grassroots mobiliser, media practitioner and radio/television broadcaster, made the call while speaking with journalists on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, declaring that the movement was fully prepared to deploy its grassroots structures and political networks towards an APC top-to-bottom victory in the state.

The TAKE IT MOVEMENT convener said the mobilisation would involve youths and young leaders across Oyo State, who, according to him, were determined to play a meaningful role in shaping the political direction of the state ahead of 2027.

He specifically named Senator Barrister Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, PhD; Engineer Aderemi Abass Oseni, APC senatorial candidate for Oyo South; Hon. Dr. Niyi Yusuff, APC candidate for Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency; and Hon. Babatunde Sunday Ogunlade (Babs), APC candidate for Ibarapa East State Constituency, among those the movement would support.

Ayanrinde added that the mobilisation would extend to other APC candidates across the 33 local government areas of Oyo State.

“We are the youths and young leaders across Oyo State. We are fully ready, set and prepared to campaign, mobilise, canvass and support all APC candidates who believe in our platform and our strength to deliver,” he said.

He said the objective of the mobilisation was not merely to secure electoral victories, but to promote leaders capable of providing meaningful representation and creating opportunities for their constituents.

According to him, political leadership must go beyond personal ambition, stressing that elected representatives should remain connected to the people, listen to their concerns, honour their commitments and give back to the communities that entrusted them with power.

“We have done it for them in the past; it is time to do it again,” MC Swagger declared.

He urged voters, particularly youths, to scrutinise the antecedents, capacity, experience and grassroots connections of candidates before casting their ballots in 2027.

Describing the forthcoming political season as “a new dawn and a new journey,” Ayanrinde called for the emergence of leaders with experience, exposure, proper orientation and a firm understanding of grassroots politics.

He identified integrity, communication, empathy, resilience, direction, alignment and commitment as key qualities voters should look for in political leaders.

He explained that while integrity builds trust, effective communication enables leaders to listen and articulate a clear vision. Empathy, he added, allows leaders to understand the realities of their constituents, while resilience helps them remain focused during challenging periods.

Ayanrinde further stressed the importance of direction and alignment in ensuring that communities pursue common objectives, describing commitment as essential to building trust, mutual responsibility and sustainable political relationships.

He therefore charged Oyo youths and political stakeholders to remain united, organised and focused ahead of the 2027 elections, assuring that the TAKE IT MOVEMENT would continue to mobilise its grassroots network in support of candidates it believes have the capacity to deliver.

“Let’s do it again. The best man for the job is here. We did it and achieved it in the past; let’s do it again,” he said.

Reaffirming his allegiance to the APC, Ayanrinde declared: “APC is our party. Broom is the logo.”
