Hon. Yemi Bernard Olurinde Engages Media Professionals in Ibadan Ahead of 2027 Elections

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Egbeda State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly election, Hon. Yemi Bernard Olurinde, on Sunday held a strategic engagement with media professionals in Ibadan as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections.

The interactive session brought together journalists, editors, broadcasters, publishers, and digital media practitioners from across Oyo State to discuss the critical role of the media in strengthening democracy, promoting responsible journalism, and fostering informed civic participation.

Addressing participants, Hon. Olurinde described the media as the Fourth Estate of the Realm, emphasizing its indispensable role in ensuring transparency, accountability, and good governance. He urged media professionals to remain committed to the core principles of journalism by upholding accuracy, fairness, objectivity, and balanced reporting in the discharge of their responsibilities.

He reaffirmed his commitment to running an open, transparent, and issue-based campaign, assuring journalists of unhindered access to information throughout the electioneering period. According to him, sustained engagement between political actors and the media is essential for building public trust and promoting peaceful, credible elections.
