Security agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force and the Department of State Services (DSS), have intensified efforts to rescue Mrs. Olanike Ogundare, who was abducted by armed assailants from her residence in the Oke Agaye area of Ijedodo. The victim was reportedly snatched from her home at No. 1 Olufemi Ogundare Street around 1:00 a.m. during a coordinated raid in which attackers overpowered a security guard at gunpoint before whisking her away to an undisclosed location.

The kidnappers, who have established contact with the family twice using the victim’s phone line, are demanding a ransom of N60 million. In a strategic shift that investigators believe is intended to complicate tracking and payment monitoring, the abductors have reportedly ordered that the ransom be converted from Naira into United States Dollars. Communications are currently being handled through an intermediary, identified as Mr. Dapo Adeola, as security stakeholders and community leaders, including Gani Adams, join the effort to secure her safe return.

Fresh findings indicate that the victim’s husband has already transferred N5 million to the intermediary, though it remains unconfirmed whether these funds have been converted or reached the captors. Security sources describe the situation as a highly organized operation, noting that the demand for foreign currency suggests a sophisticated attempt to avoid financial traceability. Authorities are currently focusing on tracking all linked communications and monitoring financial flows as negotiations continue under close supervision to ensure the victim is recovered unharmed.
