‘Anus is not a sexual organ’ — Medical doctor’s viral warning sparks social media storm

​A medical practitioner has stirred a heated debate across social media platforms following a viral video where he clarified the biological role of the human anus, warning that it is not designed for sexual activity.

​In the video, which has since generated thousands of shares and comments, the doctor emphasized that the anus is strictly a component of the digestive system, meant for the passage of waste.

​“The anus is not a sexual organ. It’s part of the digestive system. Hear me very well,” the doctor stated in the clip. He explained that while human beings may choose to use different parts of their bodies for intimacy, such choices do not alter the biological intent of the organ.

The medical professional noted that the primary function of the anus is excretion, and using it otherwise deviates from its natural purpose. However, he acknowledged the reality of personal liberty, urging those who make such choices to be conscious of the health implications.

​He said, “Now, some people decide to use it in sexual activity. That’s a choice. It’s not its biological function. If you decide to use it for sexual activity, it’s important to have consent, safety, and protection. Hygiene as well is important.”

The doctor’s remarks have since triggered a wave of mixed reactions from Nigerians. While some social media users applauded the doctor for his “frank and necessary” health education, others expressed strong disapproval, arguing that the practice should not be encouraged even with precautions.

​One user, Neche, commented in support of the video, saying, “He’s simply stating medical facts clearly, and that kind of direct health education is necessary in a time where misinformation is widespread.”

​In contrast, other users slammed the advice, insisting that the organ’s biological function should be strictly respected without exception.
