Veteran hip-hop activist and “Jaga Jaga” crooner, Eedris Abdulkareem, has sent shockwaves through the Nigerian digital space after a video of his recent live performance went viral, featuring a series of “curses” directed at supporters of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

In the high-octane footage, the rapper did not hold back, labeling the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu a “fraud” and warning those who remain silent in the face of the nation’s struggles.

The most talked-about moment of the performance was Abdulkareem’s direct address to those benefiting from or supporting the current government while the masses suffer.

“If you say you are eating under this APC government and you don’t want to talk, Nigeria will happen to you!” the rapper declared to a roaring crowd. He doubled down on the sentiment, adding, “Tinubu is the biggest fraud, and anybody who is supporting Tinubu, may Nigeria happen to you!”

The phrase “May Nigeria happen to you” has recently become a potent social media slang, used to describe the irony of supporters eventually falling victim to the very systemic failures—such as insecurity or poor healthcare—that they refuse to criticize.

Abdulkareem painted a grim picture of the current state of the nation, claiming that the economic policies of the “Renewed Hope” agenda have led to a desperate mental health crisis.

“Seyi, under your papa, this is the first time that Nigeria started to commit suicide. Nigerians are now the ones committing suicide,” he said, addressing the President’s son, Seyi Tinubu. He urged the younger Tinubu to tell his father the truth: “Tell your papa the country is hard. Tell your papa people are dying.”

The activist also highlighted the disconnect between the elite and the ordinary citizen, specifically mentioning the insecurity in Jos and the dangers of road travel.

“Seyi, you are flying private jets, insecurity is not your problem. Nigerians are traveling by road—some of them are being kidnapped,” he noted, asserting that no amount of private security can truly shield the First Family from the reality of the “jaga jaga” state of the country.

The video has triggered intense debate across TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube. While many fans praised Abdulkareem for maintaining his decades-long stance as a “voice for the voiceless,” others have criticized the harshness of his words.

The APC leadership has yet to officially respond to the viral clip, which continues to gain thousands of views and shares across the country.
