The Chairman of the Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Muritala Muhammed Airport Chapter, Honourable Bola Asiru-Balogun, has strongly reaffirmed his leadership role amidst swirling rumors suggesting his exit from the position. In a recent address at a valedictory ceremony for outgone comptroller of customs, Muritala Muhammed command, and welcoming the new comptroller, he delivered a powerful message dispelling claims that he is no longer the chairman.

Asiru-Balogun emphatically stated, “I’m still in charge of ANLCA Muritala Muhammed Airport Chapter, despite attempts by disgruntled elements to disrupt the association’s progress.” He highlighted the invasion of his office by individuals facing criminal prosecution, emphasizing his continued leadership amidst challenges.

According to recent independent investigations, Asiru-Balogun enjoys overwhelming support from his executives and other members of the association. The statement urged the Inspector General of Police, Tunji Disu, to keep a close watch on the activities of those seeking to undermine his leadership and disrupt the association’s progress, describing them as “marauders bent on fomenting trouble in the association”.

Asiru-Balogun’s reaffirmation of leadership comes as a reassurance to his supporters and stakeholders in the association, amidst concerns about the impact of the leadership tussle on ANLCA’s operations and reputation.
