LAGOS — The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has successfully apprehended 58-year-old Uzoma Valentine Ilomuanya, a notorious drug kingpin who has evaded justice in both Nigeria and the United Kingdom for over a decade and a half. The “high-stakes” arrest was executed by the Agency’s Special Operations Unit in Lagos on Monday, February 23, following years of cross-border evasion. After years in the shadows, Ilomuanya was finally cornered in Lagos. NDLEA Chairman, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), hailed the operation as a “major breakthrough,” warning that borders and villages are no longer safe havens for cartels. “Whether you jump bail in London or set up clandestine labs in your village, the long arm of the NDLEA will eventually catch up with you,” Marwa declared. The NDLEA has reaffirmed its commitment to international collaboration to ensure Nigeria does not become a sanctuary for global drug lords.
